Occasionally would like to share studies, overviews, or simple before-and-afters that reflect the care and quality that put into my prints.
Most entail about 20 hours of work to make the most of each photograph. People often respond with disbelief, but that time is spent learning, experimenting, tweaking subtle details, and most of all, simply comparing one step to the next to examine what's been gained and lost, a process I call "flickering."
But most of all, just be sure that every one of my prints has been labored, as scrupulously as the film lab guys would have done with chemicals. That legacy of fine film work has always been my inspiration, and these studies reflect my attempts to live up to them.
